The Basque Country was pioneered the setting up of Technology Parks in the Spanish State. Currently four parks form part of an integrated Network. It is one of the most consolidated networks in Europe, with a high potential for growth.

Our Parks are designed according to the universally accepted definition of what a Technology Park should be. We combine the location of high-profile companies, Universities, and Research and Technology Transfer Centres with environmentally high standard, sustainable environment. We provide the perfect context for integrating Science, Technology and enterprise.

From the start, our Technology Parks have strengthened their proactive role by contributing decisively towards the technological and innovative development of the Basque Country. Our Technology Parks facilitate the flow of know-how and technology between universities, research institutions, companies and markets. We have promoted the establishment and growth of innovative companies, providing services that offer added value, plenty of space, and state-of-the-art facilities.

The philosophy of the Basque Country Technology Park Network is to coordinate the four Parks, with a strategy of orientation towards complementary technological areas, and with a telecommunications Intranet setup that links all of the companies operating in the Parks.

To attract technologically advanced companies operating in growth potential sectors, with a great capacity for generating added value and highly qualified personnel.
To promote cooperation between companies and cooperation between companies, Universities and Technology centres
To support new technology-based companies by setting up company ‘nurseries’ and incubators.
To establish focal points from which to disseminate technology and a culture of innovation throughout the larger community.
To contribute to the diversification and innovation of Basque Country industry, depending on where each of the four Technology Parks is located and specific nature of the industrial fabric of each Territory.
